BIOSPHERE 10 is a mixed-use collective housing, commercial and office space based in a
suburb of Berlin Germany. The main objective of the project was to create a building that connects and
resonates with the natural, and creates social links for the residents and local users. The building has access
to both the main street Scharenberg Strasse and a back pedestrian alley that connects with a park on the
north side of the building. The building works as a connector between these elements creating openings for
commercial spaces, services and office spaces on the ground floor. The building has a green roof that is
materialised in a Common Garden Space open for all the users of the building. This space is a social link for
the users. The first and second floor are designated for collective housing with mixed apartment spaces that
neutralises the social discrepancy.
