PRAIRIE 92

The project is a dwelling proposal for a young couple in a beautiful natural environment in the city of Aiud, Transylvania. The concept follows the site’s natural characteristics like the nice views towards the city or the forest nearby. On the ground floor and first floor we proposed two patio spaces with views towards the city. The patio that is accessible from the main bedroom has an outdoor fireplace which completes the impressive panorama towards the city and creates a cozy and soothing ambiance. All the bedrooms have composing views either towards the forest or towards the city. The aesthetic o the house follows the „prairie house concept” reinterpreted and combined with site related elements. The round corner on the ground floor shelters the “fire point” of the house located in the heart of the dwelling, representing the dining and living space. The chromatic pallet follows the natural environment with lively and earthly colors like the nature surrounding the site in the attempt to create an insertion that is both urban and nature-friendly.
