UNIVERSE 2

Universe 2 is a bedroom designed for two boys, located in a residential area, in a suburb of Berlin, Germany. As the designated room for the kids is spacious enough it gave us the possibility of approaching a concept that creates different designated areas for sleep, study and play for each of the two boys so that they can stay together and at the same time have their personal privacy. The play area is separated from the study and sleeping area by two cabinets that can be used from both sides of the room. The cabinets are overhung with upholstery so that they are useful and comfortable at the same time . We created designated areas for depositing either clothes, toys or books and study material. The design approach is long lasting as the room can be used in this format for a long period of time. Tones of dark and color are mixed together in a design that resembles the idea of space and planets, giving the room the aesthetic of a teenager’s space and encouraging the boys to dream bigger when going to sleep at night.
