NEW HORIZONS is a single family home proposal located in Transylvania Romania. The new home is proposed to be built on the place of the old family home. The concept is to simulate in a minimalist contemporary manner the spaces of the old house so that the owners can benefit from a new, up to date home which relates to the old one when it comes to arrangement and space. As you walk through the house you can find familiar elements in the same space they were before, such as the fireplace, as being the heart of the house. The roof and simultaneously the spaces of the house rise gradually from the back of the courtyard towards the street so that the living space benefits from almost a two-story height which benefits from plenty of light. All the bedrooms and living spaces have direct access to the common terrace, this being the place in which the family reunites. The old vine of the house is to be preserved as this is an element of identity. The aesthetic of the house is warm and welcoming, and the courtyard is a secluded and protected space for the family to enjoy.
